Garfield County Public Health District

BACKGROUND

I worked for 15 years in community and economic development for SEWEDA, where I worked closely with various community organizations and local government entities to sustain and grow the economic vitality of Garfield County.  I transitioned into the private sector workforce and spent 8 years in office management where I learned the challenges small businesses face in a rural economy.  I have spent 2/3 of my life as a parent, and the past 7 years as a grand and am deeply aware of the challenges families face in trying to keep a healthy balance between work and family. 

SKILLS + RELEVANT EXPERTISE

Strong communication skills in writing and public speaking, community networking/collaborations, long-time community member, knowledge of local and state government agencies, knowledge of local and regional NGOs & civic organizations, knowledge of community demographics and lifestyle, life-long learner, strong desire to be a part of the solution.

ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER OR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Worship leader and Women’s Ministry leadership, Pomeroy First Christian Church; co-secretary, Pomeroy Pony Punchers & Garfield County Fair Rodeo.
